Alice in Wonderland Birthday Party

Well we watched the movie and she fell in love with "Allison" in Wonderland. It was too cute.  Then I found this adorable tea pot at HomeGoods and was hooked on the idea.  I was on a mission.  I knew I had to do something tea related and when a super cute paint your own pottery studio opened up nearby- I had to host the party there.  Each child painted a cute "tea cup" inspired mug.  We had a blast watching them pick their colors and create their own little works of art.

I am not going to lie I was a little embarrassed about the over the top decorations etc. we took into this poor unsuspecting business, but I won them over by giving them all the party treats. Hahahaha.  I also made sure to leave it just like we found it.

I started with these adorable hats...I could not stop.  We ended up having a couple extra, but I mean, they were so fun to make!!!!

Then I thought the kids should take their pottery home in a cute bag...

This is when I start to wonder if I have gone too far....I found these bags and the hats at Walmart.  I bought a pad of colored Scrapbook paper to cut everything out and then glued it on with hot glue.  Some of the pieces had a bit of floral wire, and a paper doily. I used colored pencil to complete the one of her in the glass.  I cut the tags myself and copied the writing from a movie clip.

My son wanted a Mad Hatter hat so I purchased a leprechaun hat at the Dollar Store, cut the sash off, glued on my own purple sash, and added the tag.

My daughter saw this on pinterest and it was a HUGE MUST.  My kids are obsessed with Dum Dum suckers.

Not the best photo, but I found these adorable Alice in Wonderland Nail decals online.
Etsy: AMnails is the name of the shop.  She has everything!

I made Megans favorite vanilla cupcakes with Cheshire Cat Tail Frosting.  I piped a Pink or Purple Circle and then alternated to the tip.  Then I put a cookie on top.    I will post this cookie recipe, it is YUMMY!  I made a small little cake with an Alice because...Well I had too.  I mean a tree trunk with her crawling in, it was a must.  I bought the roses at Walmart ...because why not, they are perfect.  Mine would never look that good.

Alice is made of fondant and I put toothpicks in her legs to give them strength as well as a way to stick them into the cake.  I made them several days in advance so that would harden a bit.  The cake was iced with chocolate frosting and then I melted chocolate, spread it onto wax paper, scored it and scuffed it, sliced it into strips, and chilled it until hard.  I then peeled off the strips and stuck them onto the frosting.  I lined the hole with black fondant and then stuck her into it.

I love a chocolate covered pretzel...mmmm salty and sweet, so I made these Cheshire Cat Tails with pre-colored melting chocolate.  The little pail was from the Easter section at Walmart.  I also used it to send her Birthday treats to school.

Here are some of the party pictures!  She was a pretty happy girl!
The banner was an old Golden Book.  I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby...after it was all set up I realized it was not going the right direction. hahahaha... Oh well.
I made these pink flamingo straws for their pink lemonade using a rubber stamp and embossing tool.  I just cut them out and hot glued them to the straw.

Make party life easier with an activity they can do right away until the activities begin.

Is this not how parenting goes...The days are long but the years are fast...not sure who said it but it is so true.  Well folks see you in June 2018 when we visit another planet and conduct some space training.  It will be Evan's turn...and you know that the favors are made....cause I am MAD.

I leave you with a few of her other birthday Photos...too cute not to share.
