Tutti Fruity Party!

Tutti Frutti Party!

Megan turned nine as the pandemic was coming to an end...thank God!  We were prepared to have it be an outside party but having kept it to friends and family we already saw regularly we moved it indoors.  I had found these adorable plates and some toucan balloon kits in the dollar spot at Target and the idea ran from there.
I had made two cakes.  One for her real birthday and one for her party.  Her pineapple one was my favorite by far!

The Watermelon cake had a sprinkle filled center and the layers were meant to mimic the inside of a watermelon...complete with brown jimmies that melted into seed spots while it baked.

We had an activity to start the party off as usual.  Some fun stickers I found on Amazon.  They can make adorable fruity characters.  The kids had a ball creating them.

Fruit Bingo was our next activity.  We used TRIX cereal as game pieces.  It was fun and delicious.

The primary party activity was to make an animal from a piece or pieces of fruit.  They drew numbers out of a dish to select a piece of fruit that would become their sculpture.  We had various pictures for inspiration and then they worked with their parents on the final product.  We tasted everything along the way.  Kumquats were ridiculously sour we discovered.

We finished the party with a bracelet making activity.  I purchased some fun summer colored seed beads and these adorable fruit slice beads...again on Amazon.

Somewhere in there we opened gifts, ate cake, and the most precious and delicious cookies from Baked Blessings in Morton Illinois.

It was a wonderful day celebrating our sweet girl.  It was so nice after such a long absence from friends and parties to be able to be with those care about in the same space.
