It was a Pirate Party!
My son was turning two and we were seriously into Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  I am not usually a cartoon theme party mom, so we did a general pirate party instead.  I was so excited about this cute little pirate set I found and was grateful for the easy cake design.  My daughter had just been born and we had my family visiting from Illinois.  So this was not the most extravagant celebration.  Evan loved it though and the fun water games and toys outside meant easy entertainment for the littles.




I had the most fun making the themed food for this party.  It was nice to be able to have the kids just run and play independently while the grown ups just sat, ate, and visited.


This watermelon shark may have started the whole theme...


Pistachio Fluff

Roast Parrot! Hahahahaha...loved it.

My sister made the best BINGO game for me and I had some fun little prizes for the winners.


The Party Favors were foam swords I bought online as well as a bag of chocolate coins and a sucker.

My absolute favorite part was the cake pops I put into a fun pirate ship pinata I found.  I got the cake pops online on Etsy.  I honestly wish I could remember who I ordered them from but it was several years ago....They were amazing and so fresh.  I was VERY happy with them.  

He was a happy boy and that made mama happy too, so Arrr Matey Until next time!!!

Dinosaur Party Evan had a very brief interest in Dinosaurs, and it happened to fall around this time.  I was lucky enough to start planning early enough, and grabbed a bunch of white easter eggs during the holiday.  We had several activities and a pinata.  It was a Roaring good time. Fairy Party It is my experience that when you have a daughter there is a short list of parties you begin planning early on.  A fairy party was high on my list.  I knew each child would get wings, and each child would get a fairy.  I looked, and priced, and looked...and looked...this was not going to be easy on a budget.  I also wanted Megan to be old enough that she might actually remember the party.  So I had 5 years to plan.  My friends know that this is normal for me...I have a problem.  I found these adorable felt fairies online and of course fell in love.  The problem was cost.  So I sat down with my clothes pins and a pile of felt and tool and came up with my own version.  I made cute little gnomes for the boys. Shark Week Party Of course we had to have a Shark Week Party!  My kids are obsessed with all things ocean, just like their mama.  So I of course went to Pinterest to get some ideas and had some of my own too. The jam filled cupcakes and Shark Photo booth were definitely faves.  We had art projects, science experiments, and fun facts galore. I kept this one simple...My hubby was super excited that I pretty much had everything I needed and shopping was not necessary. I used scrapbook paper to make a couple of banners. I found the idea for Jam filled cupcakes, and knew they were a must!
